About Us
We’re Brandon and Carolina from Medalo Properties. We began our professional lives with Brandon working in sales and Carolina as a Mortgage Agent Level 2 and Chartered Professional Accountant for over 14 years. We began our personal finance improvement journey with a ton of student debt and $15,000 in 2015, which we used strategically to buy our first property. We then invested thousands of dollars for our personal finance education and started investing with a strategy in late 2019 as we purchased our first BRRRR project in Hamilton.
In 2021, after the birth of our first child, Teo, we shifted from investing as a business on the side, to building Medalo Properties and Smartmoneyfam. This meant hiring coaches and investing in growing our knowledge, along with hiring 3 support staff. Since then, We have created a healthy balance of liquid investments as well as real estate. We have invested in multiple markets and executed on several strategies including flips, multi-family conversions, airbnb and BRRRRs across more than 25 units.
With a lethal combination of commitment, transparency, respect, and utmost integrity, we strive to increase the quality of life of others by assisting others in optimizing their finances to obtain more financial freedom without sacrificing their time.
